Jim Thompson Dallas

From the perspective of Jim Thompson, Dallas is a special community. He not only sees the city as his home, which is why he is dedicated to improving the business climate in his community. Because of who he is and how he was raised, he has always believed that one of his keys to a successful life includes giving back to his community to the extent possible. That is why, in addition to serving as chairman of Preston Hollow Capital, Jim Thompson is also a very active philanthropist in his Dallas community. In addition to his long-time service on the board of the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, Jim also strongly supports Dallas-area non-profits through the Jim & Angela Thompson Foundation, which he formed for that purpose.

Besides those ventures, Jim Thompson also shows unwavering support for STEM education initiatives through his leadership and support of the Blue Sky Educational Foundation. He also has been a former Board Member of Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which helps underserved children find legal assistance when they need it, and he has served on the boards of Angel Flight South Central and the AOPA Foundation at various times. He has also strongly support and/or served on the boards for The Family Place, and the World Craniofacial Foundation.

Jim Thompson Dallas

The City of Dallas is so important to Jim Thompson, he apparently could never even consider leaving. Think about it; when he decided to leave ORIX USA behind and establish his own firm, Preston Hollow Capital, he started his new firm in the exact same Dallas office building. Jim Thompson has always expressed a strong interest in giving back to his community, which is a key reason he has also served as a board member for Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

CASA helps children in underserved areas of the community get legal assistance when they need it. Jim Thompson is a very active philanthropist, primarily in his Dallas community. In addition to CASA, at various times, he has also served on the boards of directors for Angel Flight South Central and the AOPA Foundation, as well as the boards for The Family Place, and the World Craniofacial Foundation. Jim also strongly supports Dallas-area non-profits through his very own Jim & Angela Thompson Foundation, which he formed for the purpose of giving back.
